FLASH: New Ambassador Designate of Nigeria to the United States Named

Madam Uzoamaka Emenike has been appointed as the new Ambassador Designate of Nigeria to the United States. The Seasoned Diplomat hails from Abia State, Nigeria

There is no gainsaying the fact that She is a round peg in a round hole with diplomatic experience spanning 30 years. Well grounded in international diplomacy.

She has PhD in International Relations, from University of Reading (UK) two Bachelor’s degrees, two Master’s degrees, (a B.Sc Sociology and Anthropology from the University Of Maiduguri and an LL.B from the University of Reading in the U.K. She also earned a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos and another Master’s in International Management from University of Reading in the U.K.).

She started her career in the Nigerian diplomatic mission at the Protocol Department and Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From there to the Nigerian Embassy in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire in 1992, where she served for six years. Upon her return to headquarters in Nigeria, she was variously deployed to other departments of the Ministry, during which she represented Nigeria in numerous bilateral and multilateral missions.

Before this appointment, she was Nigeria’s Ambassador to Republic of Ireland.

We wish her well in her new Assignment.
