FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME foundation held her weekly HerSTEM training on May 21, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja.
Attendance was taken upon arrival with a total of 38 girls, 1 teacher, 2 ad-hoc staff, 2 sign language interpreters, and 2 FAME staff.
Being the second training session since its launching on April 23, participants were briefed on the training rules and regulations once again and their photos were taken for ID Cards.
Antonia Enejo who was elected as the class representative, with Joy Mohime as assistant class representative re-introduced their selves to the participants to further enable a convenient and better relationship amongst themselves.
Mr. Benjamin Wellington started the class with a 10 minutes review of the previous class session to help the participants recall what they had been taught. He proceeded to the outlined course which focuses on Word Processing & Windows and mastering the keyboard with the aid of a projector and other teaching materials.
Better communication was provided with the aid of sign language interpreters.
At exactly 11:10 am, participants were served breakfast, then the class session continued.
Furthermore, participants were guided on the function keys and how it improves keyboard mastering after they were accessed on what had been taught so far.
The class ended with a brief class assessment, after which the participants were served lunch packs and encouraged to study all they were taught before the next class, which is to hold on Friday, May 28, 2021.
