FAME Foundation held her June Boot-camp of PLAY it DREAM it on June 27, 2021. This monthly activity was held at Area 3 Football Pitch, Garki Abuja at 1 pm, with 40 Internally Displaced Girls within the ages of 7-16, 1 coach, 1 mentor, and 5 volunteers.

The Boot-camp was both enlightening and fun-filled. In attendance was, Princess Amina Ado Ibrahim, Daughter of His Royal Majesty, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, Kogi State. Princess Amina is a Humanitarian, and Girl-Child Advocate and also Mr. Victor Basang Michelin; Project Manager on Education, Governance and Sports AFD, Nigeria.

The boot camp started with the arrival and registration of the beneficiaries at the dressing room, then a 10-minute fun-filled aerobics dance exercise, instructed by Ms. Damilola Adewale, PLAYit DREAM it Project Officer. The girls were very energetic and vibrant, therefore their active participation in every activity conducted on the field.

A race competition between nine teams, consisting of five players each, was organized, and the team led by Mr. Victor emerged as the winner. The girls were also involved in other sports activities with the guide of the coach Mr. Olusegun Davis

Afterward, Princess Amina Ado Ibrahim mentored the girls on good hygiene. She explained that maintaining good hygiene is a must for every girl-child. It was indeed an educating and interactive session as the girls asked questions and contributed to the discussion. The girls were given gifts to help encourage their participation.

The boot camp ended with a book-reading by one of the refugee girls from the book, “success tips for internally displaced girls in sports”.

The next boot camp is scheduled to hold on July 25, 2021.
