FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation held her weekly HerSTEM training on August 6, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja.
Attendance was taken with a total number of twenty-five participants, one teacher, two two sign language interpreters, one volunteer, two ad-hoc staff, and two FAME Staff.
Due to the long holiday break, some of the school students were absent.
With the mathematics class coming to an end, a new course, Introduction to Computer Programming, commenced.
The class commenced at exactly 9:00 am, with Mr. Stephen, the programming instructor. He began by introducing the participants to Programming Language using Scratch software. The class session was very interactive as participants asked questions and were given practical tasks to perform.
Afterward, breakfast was served.
Lectures continued immediately after breakfast. The class got super interesting as participants were guided on using the software to design, progressing from simple to complex tasks. The participants did not hesitate to indicate their challenges, which was and attended to by the instructor.
At the end of the class, a review was carried out to ensure participants understood what was taught.
