FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation held her weekly HerSTEM training on August 6, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja. At attendance was a total of twenty-eight participants, one teacher, two sign language interpreters, one volunteer, two ad-hoc staff, and two FAME Staff.
The class commenced at exactly 9:00 am, with all the participants ready for the lecture. The tutor did a quick recap of last week’s work to ensure that the student had a great understanding of the class. He went further in the programming lectures by teaching the participants how to design a more complex game on the scratch app. The participants were excited about designing and coding a game on their own.
Breakfast was served at 11:00 am.
Immediately after the break, the class continued as the participant were halfway to completing the game. However, the tutor assisted few participants having challenges.
At the end of the class, participants were divided into smaller groups. The aim was for them to complete group projects to be presented at the last session of the course.
