FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation held her weekly HerSTEM training on August 20, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja. At attendance was a total of twenty-five participants, one teacher, two sign language interpreters, one volunteer, two ad-hoc staff, and two FAME Staff.
The class commenced at exactly 9:00 am, with all the participants ready for the lecture. The tutor did a quick recap of last week’s work to ensure that the student had a great understanding of the class. He went further in the programming lectures by teaching the participants how to design a more complex game on the scratch app. The participants were excited about designing and coding a game on their own.
Breakfast was served at 11:00 am.
Immediately after the break, the class continued as the participant were able to round up with their design. FAME foundation celebrated the birthday one of HerSTEM participant Zainab Sanni. Her fellow participant shared in her joy as they sang and wished her well.
At the end of the class, the tutor had a quick interaction with the students on what they have been able to learn so far. One of the participant said that she would like to study programming and build a career in it. The next class is scheduled for August 27, 2021
