​Leadership commitment is paramount to having a strong safeguarding culture, however, there are challenges to gaining this commitment. In this panel discussion, three Nigerian civil society organisation (CSO) Executive Directors will discuss their safeguarding journey, inherent challenges and why and how leaders can continue to maintain commitment.

There will be an opportunity for questions and answers at the end of the discussion.

Chair: 

• Dr. Eleanor Nwadinobi – Senior Advisor at the Nigeria Resource and Support Hub and International President at Medical Women’s International Association

Dr Eleanor Nwadinobi is  the Senior Advisor of the Nigeria Resource and Support Hub. She is a  medical doctor and international health, women, peace and security, gender and human rights expert. Dr Nwadinobi is also currently the President of the Medical Women’s International Association (MWIA).

• Josephine Habba – National Coordinator Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF)

Josephine Habba is the national coordinator and founder of Jireh Doo Foundation (JDF) a National Non-Governmental Organization registered in Nigeria since 2003. She has over 17 years working experience in the development sector and is a seasoned humanitarian with a heart for the marginalized and vulnerable in the society. She is the serving President NINGONET A humanitarian Network and the West African Action Network on Small Arms (WAANSA) the Nigeria chapter, She has also served in the capacity of the North Central Zonal Coordinator CiSHAN from 2005 to 2011. Josephine Habba has served and is serving in many committees, associations and working groups and is currently a member of the Benue state Judicial Panel of Inquiry.

• Bose Ironsi – Executive Director Women’s Rights and Health Project (WRAHP)

​Bose Agbonmerele Ironsi is the founder and Executive Director of Women’s Rights and Health Project, managers of Ireti Resource Center. A passionate and committed feminist with 25 years of passion to strengthen and build the capacity of the next generation of women leaders at community level.

• Adamu Muhammed – Deputy Executive Director North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF)

​Adamu Muhammad, Deputy Executive Director/ Director Programs and Co – founder North East Youth Initiative for Development (NEYIF). His passion is to support marginalised and conflict-affected people with the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential and to promote their general well-being. Adamu Muhammad obtained a BSc. Chemistry from Yobe State University.
