FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation held her weekly HerSTEM training on August 27, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja.
Attendance was taken with a total number of twenty participants, one teacher, two two sign language interpreters, one volunteer, two ad-hoc staff, and two FAME Staff.
At the end of the programming course, the participants were given a group project to submit. Their performance as a team will be factored into their final examination scores.
The participants commenced the project at 9:30 am with their group leader heading the teams. During the project, they illustrated teamwork, interaction, and collaboration as they were able to complete the project assigned to each group.
At 11:15 am, breakfast was served to the participants.
Afterwards, mentoring session commenced at noon, with the engagement coordinated by Miss Folake Oyebade, FAME Foundation Lead volunteer.
The participants shared their experiences and achievements since the commencement of the 6 months training and also their challenges, including that of their daily lives as persons with disabilities. Miss Folake rounded the session by encouraging participants to be strong, dedicated, and focused in whatever they do. She also emphasized their special needs should not be a hindrance to them achieving their dreams.
The class ended at 1:20 pm.
The next class is scheduled for September 3, 2021.
