FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation held her weekly HerSTEM training on October 8, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja.
Total attendance was 20 participants, one sign language interpreter, one volunteer, two ad-hoc staff, two interns, one FAME Staff.
The class started at exactly 9:30 am. Participants had a recap on what they were taught in their graphics class and afterward started practicing their group presentations ahead of their graduation. The presentation rehearsal was coordinated by Miss Folake Oyebade, the Lead Volunteer at FAME Foundation Volunteers Assembly.
Halfway into the class, participants were served breakfast.
To mark the International Day of the Girl-Child 2021, which is themed, “Digital Generation. Our Generation, interested participants were involved in the short video production to highlight the impacts of the HerSTEM Initiative and advocate for more women and girls involvement in STEM Fields. Interested participants shared their experiences so far and how the HerSTEM training has impacted their lives.
Finally, lunch packs were shared, and information about the upcoming educational tour was shared with participants present.
