FAME Foundation held a HerSTEMpicnic on October 28, 2021, at the Swiss Residence. Total attendance was Thirty-eight (38) participants, four (4) sign language interpreters, three (3) volunteers, two ad-hoc staff, five (5) FAME Foundation staff.

The picnic began at 10:00 am with a welcoming remark by H.E Ambassador Georg Steiner, Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria.

Ms. Aderonke Bello, FAME Foundation’s Executive Director, then gave a very emotional speech sharing her unforgettable experience with the participants and wishing them well as this phase of the HerSTEM Cohort training draws closer to the end.

Later on, the guests were served small chops and drinks, while interested participants shared their experiences about the HerSTEM, which was also very emotional.

Following that, event participants were introduced to 3D printing. They were educated on how images and designs could be printed using plastic, and other materials gotten from rice, corn, and cassava starch.

The participants then engaged in a fun activity. The game involved dividing participants into two groups and asking a group to guess the objects drawn by the other group. This session was coordinated by Mr. Lukas, Deputy Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, and FAME Foundation’s Executive Director.

FAME Foundation and the Swiss Embassy were given a unique gift, courtesy of 3D place, Abuja.
Afterward, lunch was served to everyone present.

The event rounded up at about 1:30 pm with a closing remark from Ms. Victoria Miniase, FAME Foundation’s BOT Chairperson. This was then followed by a lot of dancing, and pictures.
