FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
Prof. (Mrs.) Aderonke Baiyeroju, who is a Professor of Ophthalmology, emerged as the new DVC Academic. Prof. (Mrs.) Oluyemisi Bamgbose, SAN, who is a Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology, emerged as the new DVC, Research, Innovation & Strategic Partnerships.
The first time in the history of the Premier University, two female DVCs, were welcomed into the chancellery team, balancing the equation as two female and two male without any gender bias.
Professor Baiyeroju is an eminent Paediatric Ophthalmologist with over 30 years experience as a university lecturer and consultant ophthalmology. A former Head, department of ophthalmology, college of medicine, University of Ibadan Faculty Chairman and Chief examiner faculty of Ophthalmology, West African College of Surgeons, a W.H.O expert.
Professor Bamgbose is a Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology and the first and presently the only female professor of law in Nigeria to be conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Prof. Bamgbose, SAN served as Dean of Faculty of Law UI between 2009 and 2014. She was the first female Head of Department in the Faculty of Law.
