Around the world, sports are playing a major role in development and peace as more and more people recognize their potential to mobilize communities toward the greater good. Sport is also a powerful tool for encouraging women to stand against the stereotypes in Nigeria and beyond.

In commemoration of the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace, FAME Foundation is organizing her annual Women and Sports Dialogue, a convergence of sports experts and enthusiasts, peace and gender advocates, humanitarians, academicians, researchers, and other stakeholders, to engage in intellectual discussions around peace, sports, equality, and development.

Notable speakers at the webinar include; Mr. Sunday Dare, Honourable Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Donna A. Lopiano, President, Sports Management Resources; Andy Brown, Publisher, Sports Integrity, Dublin), and many other brilliant sports experts and professionals.

This year’s dialogue is a virtual one-day event featuring three panels, namely;
Panel 1- Sports, an inextricable link to global peace and development.

Panel 2- Women and Sports; Achieving equality.

Panel 3- Understanding the relationship between Sports and Climate Action.

The webinar is scheduled for April 6, 2022, and will commence by 11:00 GMT+1.

Participants of the e-dialogue are sportswomen, women leaders, lawmakers, international organizations, CSOs, advocates, academics, researchers, sports administrators from Nigeria, other parts of Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, and America.
