FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
Sport for development is a method of bringing about social change through sports. It is the process of using sports to achieve crucial outcomes for communities, such as development, learning, health, empowerment, and protection.
Sport is also an enabler of sustainable development. It can contribute to the realization of development and peace in its promotion of tolerance and respect and the contributions it makes to the empowerment of women and young people, individuals, and communities, as well as to health, equality, education, and social inclusion objectives.
FAME Foundation believes in the power of sports as a unifying tool in Nigeria hence the PLAY it DREAM it Twitter Space conversation, a social media campaign on sports and development. This engagement will focus on leveraging the power of sport and social media as a tool for information and movement building.
PLAY it DREAM it Twitter Space conversation is a monthly social media engagement that uses sports as a tool to advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals 3(good health and well-being), 4(quality education), 5(gender equality), and 10(reduced inequalities).
Thousands of people will be reached through the engagement and educated on how to act as change agents. The Twitter engagement aims to enlighten society on their responsibility towards the girl-child and the power of sports for advocacy, equality, and development.
The conversation, which holds on a Tuesday, engages sports experts, enthusiasts, and stakeholders on issues surrounding sports and the SDGs, in line with the PLAY it DREAM it initiative.
Through Twitter spaces, we will enlighten listeners on the importance of women, sports, and the SDGs. Sports and social leaders will also educate the public about the importance of sports for development.
