FAME Foundation organizes school outreach under Project CLEAP
FAME Foundation organized its bimonthly school sensitization, Climate Education, Awareness, and Advocacy Program (CLEAP), under the Green Ball Project.
The event, which featured 85 children in total, 59 girls and 26 boys, was held at L.E.A Primary School, Utako, Abuja on July 6, 2023.
The sensitization was aimed to instill a sense of environmental responsibility and encourage sustainable practices among the pupils. By promoting awareness and advocacy on recycling, the program sought to empower the younger generation to become change agents in their schools and communities, driving positive environmental impact.
Ms. Kemisola Ibitoye, Project Officer on Climate Action at FAME Foundation, led the session and educated the pupils about the importance and benefits of recycling.
The session focused on educating the students about the importance of recycling as a means to combat climate change and protect the environment. During the sensitization program, the students actively participated in various interactive sessions and engaging activities designed to enhance their understanding of recycling and its positive impact on the environment. Ms. Kemisola shared her knowledge and expertise with the students, providing them with valuable insights into the world of recycling.
The interactive nature of the outreach allowed the students to actively participate and ask questions, fostering a deeper understanding of the recycling process. Additionally, the students were encouraged to share their own experiences and ideas on how recycling can be integrated into their daily lives and within their school community.
The event concluded with a lively discussion and a commitment from the students to practice recycling in their daily lives.
