Chibok Schoolgirl Who Escaped From Boko Haram Engages Lover In America
Joy Bishara, a student who managed to flee from the Boko Haram terrorists’ captivity after they attacked the Government Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, in 2014, just got engaged in America.
On Tuesday, Bishara posted photographs and a statement on her Instagram page announcing her engagement to her boyfriend James.
On April 14, 2014, the terrorist group Boko Haram, abducted 276 female students aged 16 to 18 from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, Nigeria.
About 57 of the schoolgirls escaped by jumping from the trucks on which they were being transported.
Some others were rescued by the Nigerian Armed Forces but over 100 were still missing.
Bishara and her cousin, Lydia Pogu, who were among those who escaped the widely publicized attack, relocated to the United States.
In 2021, she graduated from Southeastern University with a degree in social work.
Bishara recently got engaged in the United States, saying, “I said yes to Love, laughter and happily ever after with my best friend. James exceeds everything I ever prayed for.
