FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.

Youth Day: FAME Foundation Calls for Inclusivity with Parasoccer Tournament
A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), FAME Foundation, in conjunction with the French Embassy in Nigeria, has organized a two-days parasoccer inclusion tournament in Kano, in commemoration of the International Youth Day
The event began on August 12, 2023, at the Mahaha Sport Complex and was concluded on August 13, 2023, at the Sani Abacha stadium.
The match, which featured 8 professional teams from Kano state, provided an opportunity for people with disabilities to showcase their skills and abilities on the field and seek for inclusion and equal access for Youth living with disabilities, especially para athletes.
Each team was given a distinguished name that aimed at promoting inclusion and increasing awareness about the abilities and potential of persons with disabilities.
The tournament comprises of Team Equality, Team Diversity, Team Tolerance, Team Peace, Team End Stigma, Team Integration, Team Unity, and Team Solidarity. It ended with Team Equality coming first place, Team End Stigma took the second place while Team Tolerance came third.
Speaking to the press, Ms. Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, Executive Director, highlighted how important this Para soccer tournament is and how it will benefit and contribute to society,
“This game is undoubtedly a thrilling display of sportsmanship, but it extends beyond the game itself. It is an effective tool for youth, especially those living with disabilities. Our decision to center the Youth Day celebration on a Para Soccer Inclusion Tournament demonstrates our commitment to empowering all people, regardless of their abilities.”
She further stated that one core value of FAME Foundation is its belief that everyone should be given an opportunity to showcase their talents and should be allowed to participate in sports because it is a unifying tool that brings people together regardless of their age, beliefs or abilities – cutting down every barrier to foster inclusion, development and unity.
She emphasized the importance of including people living with disabilities in sports and every other life opportunities
“People living with disabilities are no different from others; they ought to be treated fairly and equitably, and they must be involved in all aspects of society, including sports. “
“I hope this event inspires those living with disabilities to never feel excluded and to always believe they are capable of doing amazing things.”
She continued, “watching all teams play with so much enthusiasm and dedication has been nothing short of amazing, and we hope to see more of it in the years to come.”
She continued by urging the stakeholders, government, organizations, sports teams, and civic leaders to create more opportunities for people living with disabilities,
“I hope that this event inspires sports teams, organizations, and government agencies to see beyond these wonderful people’s limitations and give them a chance to showcase their potential.”
The final match ended 3 – 2 in favour of Team Equality, champion of the tournament.
Each team was paid appearance fees at the tournament, and the champion, second, and third position received cash prizes, trophies, and medals,
