FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.

FAME Foundation in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good organized its Advocacy Sensitization Outreach on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
The outreach which is themed “Child Rights and Parenting” was aimed to educate and enlighten women and girls on the necessity of knowing a child’s rights as well as guidance on suitable parenting techniques for children.
The event which took place at the Durumi IDP Camp, Area 1, Garki, Abuja, featured a total of 105 beneficiaries, 80 women and 25 girls.
The session began with Ms. Dinah Abowho playing a game of spelling words related to the theme of the day.
Th women and girls spelt words like Education, Protection, Respect, etc.
Ms. Dinah Abohwo spoke to the women and girls about some rights of the children which are Right to good and quality education, right to family care, love and protection, right to clean environment, right to protection against sexual and domestic abuse, right to protection against child marriage, use of drugs, criminal activities and illegal jobs.
She also spoke to women about parent duties such as protecting the child from harm, providing food, clothing and housing for the child, providing education, safety, supervision and control for the children.
The women and girls participated in a question and answer session, during which they asked questions about the day’s theme. Do children have more rights than adults? Are childrens right suitable for children under the age of 18 or 16? were asked and answered to
