FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation, in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good, held its monthly life skills development through sport session as part of the PLAY it DREAM it initiative.
The event which feaured 88 children, 23 boys and 65 girls, was held at LEA Primary school, Utako, Abuja on October 5, 2023.
The session’s goal was to use sports as a means to foster cooperation, education, and unity among the children.
PD coach Omale Rapheal led the children in light aerobics, and the enthusiasm from the children was amazing! Each child was able to participate in sports that improved their stamina and teamwork skills. By the end of the session, the children came together to form a team and play some fun games that taught them the importance of cooperation.
Ms. Kemisola Ibitoye led an informative and engaging mentorship session with the children, discussing the importance of being aware of the weather and its effects on our health and environment.
She encouraged the children to be mindful of the need to wear thicker clothes during the rainy season and lighter clothes during the dry season.
She also spoke to them about the ‘do’s and don’ts’ of the environment, emphasizing the importance of proper waste management and taking care of the environment.
The children had an interactve session, where they discussed the importance of taking care of the environment and shared their valuable ideas and suggestions on how to do that.
