FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation, in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good, held its November Boot camp on November 12, 2023, at Old Parade Ground, Area 10 football pitch, Garki, Abuja, as part of the PLAY it DREAM it initiative activities. The event featured a total of 75 children, 50 girls and 25 boys.
The boot camp was aimed at helping children work together by improving their cooperation, confidence, perseverance, and teamwork.
The boot camp serves as an avenue to educate and enlighten the children using sports as a tool.
Mr. Molabo Allen-Taylor led the sports session, guiding the children through light exercises to teach teamwork, team formation, and foster confidence in collaboration. Boys and girls engaged in friendly football matches, encouraging teamwork as they switched sides during the games.
Ms. Ebunoluwa Oni, a Project Officer at FAME Foundation, led the mentoring session, emphasizing good health habits. She defined health as physical fitness and the absence of illness and habits as consistent behavioral patterns.
Continuing the health guidance, Ms. Ebunoluwa stressed the importance of a clean environment, balanced nutrition, regular reading, and sufficient sleep for punctuality in attending school.
The children actively participated in the question-and-answer segment.
The November Boot Camp aimed not only for sports engagement but also imparted valuable life skills and health education to the participating children.
