FAME Foundation and Laureus Sport for Good, renew partnership for 2024.
FAME Foundation, in conjunction with Laureus Sport for Good, has officially launched its 2024 projects, marking the continuation of an impactful partnership.
After a successful year of collaboration, the two organizations are excited to embark on another year of transformative initiatives under the ‘Play it Dream it’ Initiative.
The projects have formally begun following a proper procedure and preparations.
Play it Dream it Initiative is aimed at using sports as a tool for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, improving access to quality and affordable education, reducing early marriage, promoting gender equality and sports participation, and contributing to the reduction in inequalities among children and young adults in Nigeria.
Laureus Sports for Good, a London-based not-for-profit and global organization, celebrates sporting excellence and uses the power of sport to transform the lives of children and young people around the world.
The project will begin with a Train the Trainers workshop, providing trainers, coaches, volunteers, and coordinators with direct insight into the upcoming activities of the Play it Dream it Initiative. This training aims to thoroughly educate participants on the objectives of each program and how to effectively implement them. Through a combination of classroom sessions and practical demonstrations, experts and facilitators will cover topics such as Safeguarding, the Child Rights Act, First Aid Theory, CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) Training, the 2024 project Curriculum, football training, and more.
Following this training, the projects will officially begin, encompassing life skills development, empowerment programs, boot camps, sporting activities, as well as child rights and parenting workshops in IDP Camps, schools and grassroots communities in Abuja, among others.
Speaking to the press, Arabinrin Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, Executive Director, FAME Foundation, conveyed her view regarding the partnership with Laureus Sport for Good, stating,
“This partnership renewal reinforce our collective commitment to uplifting the most marginalized segments of society. Through these efforts, we aspire to ignite hope and resilience in the hearts of everyone we reach. Together, we are committed to forging a brighter future for our communities.”
She emphasized that through the renewed collaboration, Play It Dream It Initiative will extend its reach to include more young children, underprivileged girls, and women in grassroots communities and IDP camps.
All these project approaches are designed to create a lasting, meaningful impact in the lives of beneficiaries, fostering personal growth and enhancing the well-being of society as a whole.
