FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
In partnership with Laureus Sport for Good, FAME Foundation conducted its monthly Life Skills Development through Sport session as part of the PLAY it DREAM it initiative.
This event, held at LEA Primary School in Utako, Abuja on June 26, 2024, featured 70 children, including 50 girls and 20 boys. The session aimed to use sports to promote teamwork and education.
One of the trainers, Mr. Omale Raphael, led the children in light aerobics, which they thoroughly enjoyed. These activities boosted their energy and motivation, encouraging greater participation. The children were divided into groups, each engaging in different sports activities, resulting in a highly immersive experience.
Ms. Jankat Polit, the second facilitator, conducted a mentorship session on Communication; highlighting the importance and types of communication.
She emphasized the meaning of verbal and non-verbal communication, and the importance of effective communication, as a cornerstone of teamwork and collaboration.
Ms. Polit also led an interactive discussion where the children actively contributed and learned from each other’s insights.
Ms. Ebunoluwa further engaged the children in a question-and-answer session on communication, eliciting impressive and educational responses from the participants.
The session concluded with excitement and enthusiasm, and the children departed with a deeper understanding of teamwork and communication.
