FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation, in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good, organized its bi-monthly Boot-camp as part of the PLAY it DREAM it initiative on June 25, 2024, at the Area 3 football pitch in Garki, Abuja.
The event brought together 70 children (28 girls and 42 boys) from the Area 1 IDP camp, aiming to harness the power of sports for transformative impact.
Led by Ms. Inyene Idiong and Ms. Kemisola Ibitoye, the children participated in activities designed to promote gender equality, leadership skills, and effective communication.
The session started with light exercises focused on teamwork and confidence-building, followed by a football game that encouraged collaboration and mutual support among the participants.
Ms. Josephine Etukudo, a coach from the PLAY it DREAM it program, facilitated the mentoring session on Adaptability and Flexibility. She emphasized the importance of teamwork and leveraging individual strengths to achieve common goals, encouraging the children to embrace challenges as opportunities for personal growth.
Furthermore, Ms. Etukudo shared practical strategies and real-life examples to illustrate the application of adaptability in different contexts. From sports to academic achievements, she demonstrated how individuals who are flexible and open to learning can thrive in different settings. She encouraged the children to appreciate diversity within teams, recognizing that each person’s perspective and skills contribute to achieving shared objectives effectively.
Throughout the interactive session, the children actively participated, asking questions and sharing ideas, demonstrating their excitement to learn.
