FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.

Today, FAME Foundation, an NGO based in Abuja, joins millions across the globe in celebrating International Human Rights Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the inherent dignity, rights, and freedoms of all people. This year’s theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” calls for collective action to address inequality and uphold the universal values enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
Speaking to the press, Arabinrin Aderonke, Executive Director of FAME Foundation, stated,
“Seventy-six years after adopting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), its principles remain as necessary as ever in a world where disparities in access to education, healthcare, and justice persist. On this day, FAME Foundation reaffirms its commitment to enhancing inclusive communities, advocating for marginalized voices, and promoting equal opportunities for all.”
Arabinrin Aderonke, emphasized the importance of the day, adding,
“Human rights are not abstract ideals; they are the foundation of a just and equitable society. Today, we honor the progress made while recognizing the challenges that demand our unwavering commitment. It’s the last day in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, an annual campaign that kicked off on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. We all should be reminded that every person, regardless of gender, deserves to live with dignity, freedom, and equality.”
She highlights that over the past 16 days of Activism, FAME Foundation has been deeply committed to addressing gender-based violence, with a particular emphasis on ending femicide. We reaffirm our dedication to core values such as dignity, equality, and justice, emphasizing that protecting and promoting human rights is a shared responsibility, one that rests not only with governments but also with people, communities, and organizations.
She concluded by calling on the government, CSOs, institutions, and people to stand for Human Rights and uphold the rights of every person, regardless of our differences, International Human Rights Day serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance, advocacy, and solidarity in the face of ongoing struggles. Together, we can ensure that the principles of human rights not only endure but thrive in a world that recognizes the value of every person.
