FAME Foundation Announces Renewal of Partnership with Laureus Sports for Good, London, for 2025
FAME Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Abuja, is excited to announce that it has renewed its partnership with Laureus Sports for Good for another year. This continues a shared commitment to leveraging the power of sport to drive positive social change in Nigeria.
Play it Dream it Initiative is aimed at using sports as a tool for the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, improving access to quality and affordable education, reducing early marriage, promoting gender equality and sports participation, and contributing to the reduction in inequalities among children and young adults in Nigeria.
Since the inception of their partnership in 2023, FAME Foundation and Laureus Sports for Good, London, have worked together to deliver transformative programs that create lasting impact in underprivileged communities.
The projects have officially started after careful planning and preparation. FAME Foundation will begin with a Train the Trainers workshop to prepare trainers, coaches, volunteers, and coordinators for the Play it Dream it Initiative. This workshop will help them understand the program’s goals and how to run 2025 activities effectively.
The training will include both classroom learning and hands-on practice, led by experts. Topics covered will include child protection in sports, child rights, first aid, CPR, creating a safe and inclusive sports environment for children, the 2025 project plan, football training, and more.
After this training, the main activities will begin. These will include life skills development through sports, empowerment programs, boot camps, sports activities, child rights and parenting workshops, etc. The programs will take place in IDP camps, schools, and grassroots communities across Abuja, reaching as many people as possible.
