FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society. FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.

In commemoration of International Women’s Day 2025, the FAME Foundation is organising its Annual Women’s Day Football Tournament to celebrate women’s empowerment, teamwork, and inclusivity through sports. This event will bring together women from different backgrounds, fields, market women, and grassroots communities, to promote unity and participation in football.
The 2025 tournament will feature teams from various organizations, including Team FIDA, Team FAME, Team NUT (Nigeria Union of Teachers), Team Bet9ja, Team IDP, Team FIRS, Team ProSocial, among others.
Beyond football, the event will also include an interactive educational session and free health screenings such as eye tests, cervical cancer screening, malaria testing, and other essential health services.
The tournament will take place on March 7, 2025, at 8:00 AM at the Area 3 Football Pitch, Abuja.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating International Women’s Day through sports, learning, and health awareness.
