FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation held a community outreach on March 26, 2025, at Oju Irin Ijora Market, Lagos, in celebration of Women’s Month.
The event, themed “The Importance of Good Parenting,” brought together 45 market women to discuss the challenges of balancing business and family life. It provided a space for open dialogue, where participants shared their experiences and learned from one another.
The discussion highlighted the realities of parenting while managing daily market hustle, emphasizing the need for patience, discipline, and emotional support in raising children. Through practical insights and shared experiences, the event aimed to help these women navigate both responsibilities more effectively.
Our first speaker, Mrs. Moji Aderenle, spoke on “Raising Responsible Children in Today’s Nigeria.” She highlighted the importance of instilling values, discipline, and resilience in children despite the challenges of modern society. Her session provided practical advice tailored to the realities of parenting while managing a business, encouraging market women to be intentional about their children’s upbringing.
Our second speaker, Ms. Olayinka Wells, led a session on “Balancing Motherhood and Making Ends Meet in Nigeria.”
She discussed the struggles of running a business while raising children and the importance of making wise financial choices. She urged the women to secure their children’s future by ensuring they go to school and learn a trade, stressing that education and skills are the best ways to break the cycle of hardship. She also encouraged them to seek support when needed and take steps toward financial stability.
Our outreach at Oju Irin Ijora Market was a success, bringing market women together for meaningful discussions on good parenting and balancing work with family life. The event provided practical insights that addressed their daily challenges and encouraged them to take proactive steps toward a better future for themselves and their children.
FAME Foundation continues to empower women by equipping them with the knowledge and support needed to improve their lives. Through initiatives like this, we remain committed to strengthening families and promoting sustainable development within communities in Nigeria.
