FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.

FAME Team Presents Trophy to Executive Director, FAME Foundation
On March 9, 2026, members of the FAME Team paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Director of FAME Foundation, Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi, to present the trophy they won at the 9th FAME Foundation Women’s Day Football Tournament.
The visit followed the team’s victory at the tournament held on March 6, 2026, where Team FAME emerged as champions after a competitive series of matches. The tournament, organized by FAME Foundation in commemoration of International Women’s Day, brought together twelve (12) teams representing various organizations and communities to promote gender equality, inclusion, and women’s empowerment through sports.
The team was accompanied by their coach and captain, Confidence Nduagwuike (Confidence Oluchi), who led the players in presenting the trophy to the Executive Director on behalf of the team.
During the visit, members of Team FAME expressed their appreciation to the Executive Director for her support and dedication to creating opportunities for women through sports and advocacy. They noted that the Women’s Day Football Tournament continues to provide a platform that encourages women to participate in sports while promoting important messages around equality and inclusion.
Captain Confidence spoke on behalf of the team and thanked the leadership of FAME Foundation for organizing the tournament and for consistently providing a platform that brings women together through sports. She noted that the experience strengthened the team’s spirit of unity and determination throughout the competition.
Receiving the team, the Executive Director, Arabinrin Aderonke, congratulated the players for their dedication, teamwork, and impressive performance during the tournament. She commended the team for representing the values of FAME Foundation and for demonstrating the strength and potential of women in sports.
She also reiterated the commitment of FAME Foundation to continue using sports as a tool for advocacy, empowerment, and social change, while creating more opportunities that encourage women and girls to participate actively in sports and leadership.
The presentation of the trophy was a moment of celebration for the team and FAME Foundation, reflecting the impact of the Women’s Day Football Tournament and the role it continues to play in promoting women’s participation in sports and advancing gender equality.
