The PIDI Interschool Football Tournament, organized by FAME Foundation under the Play It Dream It program, in partnership with Manchester City and Midea, took place on April 6, 2026, at the Razak Balogun Recreational Field in Lagos to commemorate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
The tournament featured six junior secondary schools from across Lagos, giving students a platform to compete in football while developing important life skills. The event aimed to strengthen social bonds, encourage healthy lifestyles, and promote values such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, and respect.
Throughout the day, students displayed energy, sportsmanship, and collaboration. Each match provided opportunities to build confidence, connect with peers from other schools, and experience the unifying power of sport.
At the end of the tournament, outstanding teams and players were recognized, with medals and trophies presented to celebrate their performance and participation. This moment reinforced the spirit of achievement, motivation, and fair play among the students.
FAME Foundation thanks its partners, Manchester City and Midea, for their support in making the tournament a success. The event underscored the foundation’s ongoing commitment to using sport as a tool for youth empowerment, peaceful engagement, and community development.
