

A Not-Profitable Organisation set up to formulate programmes through several initiatives to mentor, empower and advocate for women and girls.
FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society. FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.


INTRODUCTION
In June 2026, FAME Foundation continued implementing the PLAY it DREAM it program across communities and schools in Lagos State in partnership with Manchester City and Midea Global. The program continued to use football and sport-based learning as effective tools for youth development, equipping children and young people with practical life skills while promoting healthy lifestyles, leadership, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing.
The month featured two editions of the Grassroots Football Bootcamp in Ikorodu and Surulere Communities, alongside Life Skills Development Through Sport sessions at Egbe Secondary School, Ikotun, and Euba Secondary School, Mushin.
These activities provided safe and engaging environments where participants could learn, play, build positive relationships, and develop the knowledge and skills needed to navigate everyday challenges.
PROJECT 1
PLAY IT DREAM IT GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL BOOTCAMP – IKORODU
OVERVIEW
The June edition of the PLAY it DREAM it Grassroots Football Bootcamp was held in Ikorodu Community, Lagos, in partnership with Manchester City and Midea Global. The bootcamp continued to use football as a platform for engaging children while promoting personal growth and healthy living.






The life skills session focused on Emotional Control: How to Handle Wins and Losses, helping participants understand the importance of managing emotions, showing respect regardless of the outcome of a game, and developing resilience in both success and disappointment.

Participants developed a better understanding of emotional control and the importance of responding positively to both winning and losing. The bootcamp encouraged resilience, discipline, and mutual respect while creating an environment where children could enjoy football, stay active, and build healthy relationships with their peers.
PROJECT 2
PLAY it DREAM it Grassroots Football Bootcamp – Surulere
Overview
Another edition of the PLAY it DREAM it Grassroots Football Bootcamp was delivered in Surulere Community, Lagos, under the partnership with Manchester City and Midea Global.






The bootcamp continued to combine football with life skills education, focusing on Emotional Control: How to Handle Wins and Losses. Participants learned that success is not only measured by winning but also by demonstrating respect, resilience, and self-control during competition.

PROJECT 3
Life Skills Development Through Sport – Egbe Secondary School, Ikotun
Overview
The June edition of the Life Skills Development Through Sport program was held at Egbe Secondary School, Ikotun, Lagos, under the PLAY it DREAM it program in partnership with Manchester City and Midea Global.






The session focused on Cooperation, helping students understand the importance of working together, supporting one another, and contributing positively towards shared goals through interactive sport-based activities.

The session strengthened their understanding of cooperation and highlighted how working together can improve learning, problem-solving, and relationships within the school environment.
PROJECT 4
Life Skills Development Through Sport – Euba Secondary School, Mushin
Overview
The PLAY it DREAM it program also reached Euba Secondary School, Mushin, Lagos, where students participated in another Life Skills Development Through Sport session delivered in partnership with Manchester City and Midea Global.






The session focused on Cooperation, encouraging students to appreciate the importance of supporting one another, sharing responsibilities, and working together to achieve common goals both in sport and everyday life.

Students demonstrated enthusiasm and active participation throughout the session. The activities reinforced the importance of cooperation, effective communication, and teamwork while encouraging students to apply these values in their academic work, friendships, and everyday interactions.

The June 2026 activities further demonstrated FAME Foundation’s commitment to empowering children and young people through sport, education, and community engagement. The Grassroots Football Bootcamps and Life Skills Development Through Sport sessions created meaningful opportunities for participants to strengthen emotional resilience, develop cooperation, and adopt positive values that contribute to their overall growth and wellbeing.
The successful implementation of these activities continues to highlight the impact of the PLAY it DREAM it program in building healthier, more confident, and socially responsible young people while strengthening communities through the power of sport.
