FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) has formally recognised the Association of Former Female Athletes of Nigeria (AFFAN) as an official stakeholder in the governance structure of National Sports Federations.
This landmark decision strengthens gender inclusiveness in sports administration, ensuring that Nigeria’s former female athletes, who once brought the nation pride and glory on the international stage now take their place in shaping policies, mentoring the next generation, and driving excellence in governance.
The NSC remains committed to fairness, inclusivity, and global best practices in building a sustainable future for Nigerian sports.
Indeed the NSC has been very deliberate and intentional in it’s support for Women, Youth and Para Sports. To this end at present key departments that are the heartbeat of the NSC Sports operations are run by outstanding and highly competent women as Directors.
