General Manager of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, while addressing participants and guests at the event yesterday, described the ability games as more than a sporting competition, noting that they represent courage, determination, and the extraordinary abilities that exist in every individual, regardless of physical limitations.
She said that the initiative serves as a reminder that talent knows no disability and that determination has no boundary.
According to her, Lagos State Government remains committed to promoting policies and programmes that cater for every member of the society, irrespective of gender, status or physical ability.
Oyetunde-Lawal said that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive governance through the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda.

According to him, the document comes at a crucial time and will provide clear procedures for the ministry’s work.
Also speaking, Senior Communications Officer at CEWHIN, Oluwatobi Opadokun, said the project was designed to provide technical support for social workers and youth development officers within the ministry, noting that the initiative aims to strengthen professional social work practice and enhance service delivery for children, youths and other vulnerable groups.
