FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
There has been an Age-long Debate on the Exclusion of Women in occupying Top Positions in Nigeria. However things seems to be quite different from the usual in Kogi State under the Present Administration in the State led by Governor Yahaya Bello. In February 2020, Bello broke the jinx as the First Serving Governor in Nigeria who appointed a Female Aide-de-camp, Iwanger Ifeoma Akaya.
Akaya was appointed following the transfer of her predecessor, Usman Shugaba who is currently as an Aide-de-camp to Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Below is a list of Five Things To Know About Akaya
1. She is not New to the Police Force, Her Father, Charles Akaya is a Former Commissioner for Police in Delta State.
2. Ifeoma Akaya hails from Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State and She is a Tiv by Tribe.
3. She is a trained Lawyer, Akaya had a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from the prestigious Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State.
4. She joined the Nigerian Police Force in December 2016 where she rose through the ranks to assume the position of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
