FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
Life Skills Development Through Sport (July Edition)
FAME Foundation, in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good, held its monthly life skills development through sport session as part of the PLAY it DREAM it initiative.
The event which featured 91 children in total, 65 girls and 26 boys was held at LEA Primary school, Utako, Abuja on July 6, 2023.
The session was aimed at using sports as a tool to promote peace, teamwork, and education.
Mr. Omale Rapheal, a PD coach, guided the children in light aerobics, which they absolutely enjoyed. The aerobic activities improved the children’s energy and motivated them to participate even more.
Ms. Ebunoluwa Oni led the mentorship session and educated the children about the importance of maintaining personal hygiene.
She advised the children to take a bath and brush their teeth every morning and night. She also encouraged them to wash their hands after using the restroom to avoid infection.
She also urged the children to always wear clean clothes and to avoid wearing dirty underpants She advised them to always keep their hair clean and apply hair cream to prevent lice
She reminded them to always keep their nails neat and short so they wouldn’t get sick when eating.
She warned them against biting their nails and other unhealthy habits.
The children took part in an interactive session, asking questions and sharing what they had learned from the mentorship session.
The session concluded with excitement, and the children departed.
