FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society. FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.

    Nigerian primary school girls were inspired, mentored and empowered in Abuja on the 24th January, 2017 by a charity organisation.
    The school which is located in the remote area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is called LEA Primary school, Kovin Madaki where over 500 students attend lessons in just six classrooms and a non-functional nursery.
    A gender-biased Abuja based NGO, FAME Foundation for women and girls empowerment recently launched one of its outreach hashtag,  #fametrain and visited the school with a team of five persons who took the girls on talks about perseverance, hardwork, unity and hygiene with promises of returning back to assist in putting some of the school facilities in order.
    Speaking after the event, journalist and CEO of FAME Foundation, Aderonke Bello, said they are on a mission to make changes in the lives of girls and women resident in Nigeria.
    “We are out to support and better the lives of women and girls in Nigeria which is why we visited these children to inspire and enlighten them, especially on topics that may likely not be discussed in schools and at home.
    “We also have plans to take the #fametrain across the federation, leaving and putting smiles on the faces of women and girls.” Ms. Bello concluded.
