FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME FOUNDATION held her weekly HerSTEM training on May 28, 2021, at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Maitama, Abuja.
Attendance was taken upon arrival was taken with a total number of 35 participants, 1 teacher, 2 sign language interpreters, 2 volunteers, and 3 FAME Staff.
The class started at exactly 9:17 am, with Mr. Benjamin teaching them on Internet, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft word processing. He ensured every participant understood by giving a thorough review of what he had previously taught.
Participants were served breakfast at 11:20 am. Ms. Folake Oyebade, FAME Foundation’s Lead Volunteer, had a 20 minutes menstrual hygiene talk with the participants by sharing on certain areas women and girls are misinformed on menstruation while they had breakfast. Some participants did not hesitate to share their experiences, ask relevant questions and seek knowledgeable tips on proper hygienic practices before, during, and after their menstruation.
The teacher continued the class with the projector helping convey information and vividly enlighten the participants on what the teacher was teaching. Mr. Benjamin congratulated the participants who made themselves available throughout the study and encouraged them to consistently practice everything he had taught them, as that was the last class for the course.
Participants were served lunch, then given detailed information on the Web Design Course, which is to commence on Friday, 4 May 2021.
