FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation is accepting applications for a 6-month free fashion design training, for women and girls ages 18-30, from rural and underprivileged communities.
The certified vocational training is one of the activities under the Economic Empowerment of Women and Girls Project, aimed at empowering rural women and girls with entrepreneurial skills and vocational training and up-skilling for a better means of livelihood, thereby reducing poverty, improving their physical and mental well-being, reducing inequalities, and promoting gender equality in line with SDGs 1, 2, 3, 5,8, and 10.
Beneficiaries will be trained in pattern drafting, cutting, illustrations, sewing, and the business of fashion.
This free training is to start in Mid-July for six months.
Requirements Applicants must be; Female Between the age of 18 and 30 Young women in underprivileged situations Passionate about fashion designing and willing to learn Living within FCT, Abuja Applicants must be available and committed throughout the duration of the training Successful applicants must be able to cater for their transportation throughout the training period. Applicants must adhere to the training rules, policies and regulations.
