FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
FAME Foundation, in collaboration with Laureus Sport for Good, held its monthly life skills development through sports sessions as part of the PLAY It DREAM It initiative.
The event was held at LEA Primary School, Utako, Abuja on November 2, 2023, and featured a total of 80 children, 55 girls and 25 boys. The session was aimed at using sports as a tool to promote, peace, teamwork, and unity amongst the children.
Mr Ibrahim Abusulyan Saheed, a PD Coach, began the session with a light aerobics activity engaging all the children. This energetic start set a vibrant atmosphere and encouraged active participation in subsequent activities.
Following this, Ms Ebunoluwa Oni led an enlightening mentorship session, concentrating on Time Management.
She emphasized the importance of punctuality, advising the children to wake up early and arrive at school on time, highlighting the significance of completing assignments promptly, and promoting self-discipline in executing tasks without constant supervision.
She urged the children to always do the right thing at the right time in the right place without being supervised.
The interactive segment allowed the students to participate, ask questions, and share their understanding of the topic.
Throughout the event, the children’s participation and excitement indicate a positive impact in developing these key life skills and promoting a sense of unity and cooperation among the participants.
The session concluded with excitement, and the children departed.
