Kano Govt Restates Commitment To Women, Youth Empowerment
The Kano State Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, has reemphasised the state government’s commitment to prioritising programs to empower women and youths.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to his office, Musa addressed National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) members and acknowledged these groups’ crucial contributions to the state’s socio-economic advancement.
He expressed satisfaction with the laudable programs initiated by the state government to improve the socioeconomic status of women in the state. Further, he urged the NCWS to complement government efforts by introducing development programs that promote women’s empowerment and provide tangible benefits to women in the state.
Speaking further, the Permanent Secretary of Establishment, Umar Jalo, emphasised the importance of collaboration and synergy.
Earlier, the Council Chairperson, Hajiya Gambo Abdullahi, explained that their visit was to shed more light on the council’s activities and initiatives and seek further guidance and support from the Office of the Head of Service.
In a related development, the Service’s director of public enlightenment, Bintu Yakasai, noted in a statement that the head of the service also called on the youths to shun social vices and behaviors that could compromise their potential.
When National Youth Progressive Council (NYPC) members visited him on Tuesday, he called. He was then presented with an Award of Excellence for his outstanding performance in the civil service.
Musa also advised youths to draw valuable lessons from the recent August protest, which had devastating consequences for the nation, and to use those lessons to make positive changes in their lives and communities.
