FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.

Adebayo Adeyemi Rashidat Crowned Champion Of 2026 Ogun Women Run
Adebayo Adeyemi Rashidat has triumphed in the 2026 Ogun Women Run, a 5km race specifically for women organised by Brussel Sports Management Limited. She crossed the finish line on Saturday with an impressive time of 30:15.61.
The vibrant event, held in Abeokuta, saw approximately 1,000 women participate. Starting from Sapon and concluding at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, the race aimed to champion fitness, well-being, and female empowerment.
Rashidat secured her victory ahead of Alawode Omotayo Adiat, who claimed second place with a time of 31:09.46. Akoni Oluwanifemi finished third, completing the course in 31:18.65.
For her outstanding performance, Adebayo Adeyemi Rashidat received a cash prize of ₦500,000. Alawode Omotayo Adiat was awarded ₦300,000 for her second-place finish, while Akoni Oluwayemi took home ₦200,000 for third.
Following the race, Mrs Yetunde Johnson, Managing Director of Brussel Sports Management Limited, expressed her satisfaction with the event’s success and commended her dedicated team.
“We are absolutely delighted with how the race turned out today. The turnout was impressive, and the organisation ran smoothly. I want to extend my thanks to my team for their hard work, the Ogun State Government, and all our sponsors who collaborated to make this event a success.”
The race was officially started by the former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Adijat Adeleye, alongside the Ogun State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka. Hon. Adijat Adeleye lauded the participants for being part of what she described as a historic moment.
“It’s truly inspiring to see so many women come out to participate and be part of history. This event truly highlights the strength, unity, and determination of Ogun women.”
In his address, the Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to fostering an environment where sports can flourish. He highlighted that the Ogun State Government, under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s leadership, would continue to back sporting initiatives and encourage greater private sector involvement in sports development.
Distinguished guests at the event included Mr Sunday Odebode, President of the Paralympic Committee of Nigeria; Mrs Yetunde Olopade, Managing Director of Nilayo Sports Management Limited; and Hon. Tunde Delu, Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Development, among other notable figures.
