FAME foundation was established to solicit, encourage and advance the social, emotional and economic wellbeing of women and girls as well as formulate programmes within the framework of national development plan with a view to enhancing the participation of women and advocate for gender parity in the society.
FAME foundation firmly believe that the entire nation, businesses, communities and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment.
On May 30 2021, FAME Foundation held her PLAY it DREAM it Boot-camp for the month of May, the fourth edition. This monthly activity held at the Area 3 Football Pitch, Garki Abuja by 1pm, with 38 Internally Displaced Girls within the ages of 7-16, 2 coaches, and 8 mentors.
The event was graced by the presence of Daniel Amokachi, a former Nigeria footballer, who is currently a Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sports.
The boot-camp started with the arrival and registration of the beneficiaries at the dressing room, then a 10-minute fun-filled aerobics dance exercise, instructed by Ms. Damilola Adewale, PLAYit DREAM it Project Officer. The excitement on the faces of the girls was thriving as they cooperated and prepared for the football exercise.
A brief football race competition was organized, between the yellow and blue team, whereas the Yellow team emerges as the winners.
Afterwards, Daniel Amokachi had an interactive session with the girls literally making them understand that “there is no result without hardwork”, he also pin-pointed that whatever the girls had passion to do, they should endeavor to give in all their best and leave the rest to God.
The girls affirmed to every of the word of advice given and appreciated him with an applause followed by gift from Daniel Amokachi to the girls.
The next boot camp is scheduled to hold on June 27, 2021
